About Me

My name is Anna. I am originally from Poland and I currently live in the UK.

My journey with dogs began in Poland, where I volunteered at a local rescue centre and fostered dogs for several years. This experience taught me invaluable lessons about the many different ways dogs can behave and the significant impact trauma can have on them. I discovered that with patience, gentle training and clear communication, many dogs can recover and truly thrive despite their past experiences.

Over the years, I also had the privilege of sharing my life with rescued dogs, which further deepened my understanding of canine behaviour. In 2021, I adopted my German Shepherd, who turned out to be reactive and became one of my greatest teachers. Wanting to support him in the best possible way, I immersed myself in courses and webinars, expanding my knowledge of behaviour and training.

This passion led me to pursue formal education through the Nordic Education Centre for Ethical Dog Trainers, which follows the methods developed by Turid Rugaas, renowned for her groundbreaking work on Calming Signals, an essential part of canine communication. I am also a proud member of the Pet Dog Trainers of Europe (PDTE), an organisation founded by Turid Rugaas that promotes ethical, force free training methods.

For nearly two years, I have been working as a Behaviour Coordinator with Canadian Rescue – Fetch + Releash. In this role, I conduct online consultations and training sessions, as well as educational webinars for foster families caring for rescue dogs. Supporting foster carers and helping dogs transition successfully into new homes is incredibly meaningful to me.

Recently, I joined Plymouth's Positive Dog Training Community as one of the group experts. There, I collaborate with like minded professionals who are dedicated to kind and evidence based training approaches.

I always work as part of a wider professional team, collaborating with clinical animal behaviourists, behaviourists, veterinarians, physiotherapists, nutritionists and other specialists from around the world. My approach to training and behavioural advice begins with ensuring there are no underlying physical causes contributing to a dog’s behaviour. Where appropriate, I recommend veterinary referrals or work alongside physiotherapists and nutrition professionals to address any potential discomfort or health concerns.

Equally important to me is a dog’s emotional comfort and overall welfare. I conduct thorough behavioural assessments, carefully analysing all aspects of your dog’s life, from environment and daily routine to past experiences and communication patterns. By looking at the whole picture, I create thoughtful and individualised support plans that prioritise well being and long term success.

Today, my mission is to help people and dogs understand each other through body language, compassion and clear communication. I work in a force free and ethical way to build strong, healthy bonds based on empathy and mutual respect.

Above all, I am a friendly and approachable person to work with. I believe that creating a supportive and understanding environment for both dogs and their humans is just as important as the training itself.
